Danish Minister of Transportation visits Grenaa Harbour

Danish Minister of Transportation, Henrik Dam Kristensen, visited Grenaa Harbour in April to see the great potential the Harbour holds, writes the latest issue of iFront.

I can feel the great enterprise that exists on Grenaa Harbour and I see the many development possibilities the Harbour holds,” said the Minister.

On his tour around the Harbour, the Minister met with Svend Brandstrup, the CEO of hveiti, the future biorefinery on Grenaa Harbour, who told him about the construction plans for the sustainable biorefinery that is to be built in the nearest future.

Svend Brandstrup explained that work is being done to secure the final capital needed to make the project a reality, and told that he is in contact with investors from as far away as Qatar.

Good logistics

Henning Lauersen, CEO of Grenaa Harbour, told the Minister about the many wishes and possibilities he sees the Harbour as having. With political goodwill, the Harbour can become even more attractive and generate more work places for the municipality, he said. He stressed the fact that good infrastructure is crucial if the Harbour is to develop.

Right now Grenaa North Harbour is among other things used as shipping port for Anholt offshore wind farm.
