The report shows that EU’s collected use of biofuels in 2012 was 14.4 mill. tons, which is a 2.9 % increase since 2011. It also shows that the biofuel incorporation rate in transport across the EU was 4.7 %.
Germany is the largest consumer of biofuels in the EU, and all of Germany’s biofuel is certified sustainable according to the Renewable Energy Directive.
With a 14th place and a consumption of 70,528 tons bioethanol and 159,006 biodiesel, Denmark is placed exactly in the middle of the table. All of Denmark’s consumption is, like Germany’s, certified sustainable.

79.1 % biodiesel
19.9 % bioethanol
0.5 % biogas
0.5 % vegetable oil
